We have chosen Hacksaw Ridge this year.

In World War 2, a conscienscious objector called Desmond Doss joins the US Army as a combat medic but, because of his beliefs, refuses to fire or even carry a rifle. Despite great opposition and torment from men in his unit, including superior officers, he is deployed to one of the Pacific Areas and manages to save the lives of 75 men in just one battle; still without carrying a gun, let alone firing one. This is his story, and a true story.
